Most beautiful female: NOMOS Minimatik

Formed with a high-precision work of the new generation - the latest NOMOS automatic watch speaks unmistakably the language of the manufactory. Not only is she particularly in a good mood, she is also feminine in a new way  

The new NOMOS automatic caliber DUW 3001 is only 3.2 millimeters high, which is also one of the first two models in which the new NOMOS engine operates. It is a ladies watch without the commonly feminine attributes. But much better: minimization is fine, optically light, full of irony and memory. The flat housing seems to float due to its skilful design. It can be said to be the archetype of a classic watch case, even if such a beautiful one has hardly ever existed.

With its vaulted glass, conical shape and curved lines, the new watch is not only very attractive but also pleasant to the wrist - the best prerequisite for not leaving it any longer. The new automatic movement DUW 3001 also speaks for itself. It is not only with its fine proportions and best handling characteristics (the production tolerances were partly halved for this caliber), but also with Swing: the highly praised and highly precise assortment of the manufactory.

And the dial? The small second sits harmoniously and generously between six o'clock and pointer eye, the fine pointers again point to the sympathetic typography. And a small lettering mentions what one would otherwise forget with this flat housing: that just no hand lift hides in this timepiece, but an automatic caliber.

Also the best readability is guaranteed - and good mood with built-in. For all elegance and restraint, model minimization is also a little premature: the hands are painted in strong Bordeaux red, the numerals radiate in ink blue. A cheerful and at the same time familiar combination, which is picked up by the minuterie, is refined with golden hour markings. Some may think of a chain carousel when looking at the dial, a fly-mushroom, blobs on the desk-those inspiration sources of the NOMOS designers. This is how a young, not so serious watch came into existence, whose color and design are nevertheless designed for timelessness. And with all the cheerfulness it is elegant - on a second glance, the golden hour markings reveal themselves as an elaborate perlage.

The design of the NOMOS model is a teamproject, once again: while the case design of the Hannes Wettstein studio was developed (mainly by Simon Husslein, also a Lux and Lambda case), the dials of the NOMOS- Designtochter Berlinerblau (above all: Thomas Höhnel, who also painted Ahoi).
